True friendship is seen through the heart, not through the eyes.
Love is Important
By Jean Kay
Love is so important
in everything we do.
Love brings out the very best
in every point of view.
It’s easier to be loving
than to hold on to a grudge.
We get stuck in negativity
and our ego will not budge!
Experiences, good and bad,
will always come and go,
being able to love regardless
is how our spirits grow.
Love works in mysterious ways
to soften any concern.
Giving love away freely
reaps loving rewards in return.
How wonderful and magical
we feel when we’re in love.
We truly are on top of our world-
there’s nothing we can’t rise above!
Let’s turn all negative thinking
into positive, loving thought
by spreading love, joy and peace
as, for thousands of years, we’ve been taught.
Very recently, a teacher found us and wanted to get her students involved in spreading hope and love into the world. They attend the New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn, New York. Liz teaches her students wonderful values of empathy, giving back and service with her efforts, and we are so happy to be a part of this endeavor.
Their letter reads:
Attached you will find 14 hats made for your organization. We admire your work in the communities in need and your diligent efforts to improve the world around us. I am honored to present you with this contribution on behalf of my students and hope that it will help you in keeping all those in need safe and warm.
I look forward to continue our contributions in the near future. Thank you from myself and my crafting students for giving us the opportunity to be a part of it.
We are so proud of these kids for making a difference and being a part of something bigger!
Our sweet friend, Mary from California sent us a box of these lovely creations!
She included a note that reads:
Hello my friends-
Once more I am sending you a box of love. There will be various sizes of hats and a few booties, along with sets. I forgot to count them when I put them in the box so it will be a surprise for both of us.
The booties can be given to anyone you feel can use them if not given to hospitals. They are slippers, not booties.
Blessings to you and you family for the work you do.
Thank you, Mary. The total count you sent us is 28 baby hats, 9 baby hat & bootie sets, and 4 slippers.
We greatly appreciate your contributions!
A little before Christmas, we gathered hats, scarves, and some lap blankets to deliver for December. We had 115 items altogether– 46 hats for babies, 3 lap blankets, 56 hats for child & teenaged chemo warriors and 10 scarves.
We want to thank everyone who helped make this delivery possible- the knitters, cutting and punching holes in the labels, attaching the labels to the hats, photographing and counting the hats, and the actual delivery! We also greatly appreciate your support and kind words!
Let’s keep going- Spread Hope, Love & Joy!!
Our friend, Laura from Alexandria, Virginia sent us these hats to include in our December delivery!
Her note reads:
Thanks for all you do to bless others in their journey.
I’m happy to give some, so all together we can have a greater impact!
Happy Holidays & I’ll keep knitting!
We greatly appreciate your beautiful contribution and support!
Recently, we gave 292 hats to Melissa, our sweet and dedicated friend, to take to St. Joe’s and CHOC. To date, we have delivered 7,509 hats to spread love, joy & hope!
125 hats for pediatric chemo warriors
167 hats for babies in the NICU
We are so grateful for everyone involved who made this possible! We are spreading hope and love with these thoughtful items!
Our friend, Jeanne sent us a box of hats:
Her note reads:
This is just a small contribution to a very caring cause. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to be a part of it.
When I retired 47 years of nursing and picked up loom knitting, I looked for a purposeful cause and the Lord led me to yours.
I am so glad Jeanne found us and was inspired to send us hats she made!
Have a blessed day!
Our good friend, Robin sent us 37 hats from Phoenix, Arizona.
