We are strong! Even when we don’t want to be, even when it would be easy to give up, we stay strong.
In the face of death, with tears running down our cheeks, grief-stricken and heartbroken, we stay strong.
Started in 2012 and since then, we have buried many loved ones who lost their battle with cancer. We do it for them- we stay strong — keep living — keep knitting for them! We spread hope and love to remember how they smiled with encouraging words to keep at it.
We are hurting and missing you. We are mad that cancer took yet another one of our loved ones..one of our stronger ones. But we will not give up…because we are strong.
Together we are strong…in hope, there is a strength!
A few days ago, we delivered these 197 hats and 3 blankets to our sweet friend, Melissa so she can take them into St. Joes for the babies in the NICU.
I am grateful for everyone who helped make this delivery possible, both our new friends and those who are steadfast in their commitment to knitting for charity, my kiddos for helping with the tagging and of course, our sweet friend, Melissa for the actual delivery and distribution of the hats.
Everyone has a role in spreading hope!
Today September ends, and we delivered 175 hats for children cancer warriors to CHOC.
We are so grateful that you have chosen to support our cause and help us spread hope into the world! We know that these hats will delight all recipients, from the smallest toddler to the bravest teenager– thanks to you, we have a variety for our chemo warriors to choose from!
With some much to be done, I am so blessed to have 2 great helpers who help tag, count and deliver these hats! Without my 2 helpers, I wouldn’t be able to accomplish even half as much needed! I am so glad that they already see the need to Do Good in the world!
My 2 kiddos who help out without complaining! Teach them young to make a difference in the world!
Thank you to everyone who helped make this delivery possible!!

In honor of his auntie, my son took in 19 adult hats for chemo warriors to the Oncology Unit that Wanda would get her chemotherapy during her battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Wanda passed on 12/27 five years ago, but it seems like yesterday. It’s always a difficult day around here, and as we fought the tears back, we decided to push through, be strong and do things that she loved. One of the things Wanda loved to do, was bringing in hats for chemo warriors. I had just started learning how to loom knit and the hats I made were unquestionably “unique”, but Wanda would always be so kind and encouraging. And the PR piece was almost always her– I was embarrassed – even with this blog as it sometimes seemed like we were bragging or tooting our own horn. But she would ask- how can you raise awareness or make changes if nobody knows? In her kind, patient but firm nature, Wanda pushed me to improve my hat making skills and to grow Knitting Rays of Hope.
Bryan took in chemo hats for adult chemo warriors at Kaiser in Ontario.
And with this last delivery for 2017, we are proud to say we have delivered 6,118 hats to chemo warriors and babies in the NICU! We are so grateful for your continued support and generosity! Thank you for making this world better and for spreading love and hope!
Last week, Melissa delivered 87 hats for children cancer warriors at CHOC.
We hope that these hats will bring warmth, hope, and smiles to the special cancer fighters just in time for the holidays! This makes the “to date total” of delivered hats, blankets, and scarves 6,099! We are very proud of our team and community to make this possible!
Wishing everyone love and joy!
