Spreading Hope…a hat at a time.

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.

Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

In addition to the hats for Knitting Rays of Hope, I am also hosting a charity drive in my workplace for the Pajama Program.  We would love for you to get involved!  You can host your own drive or contribute to ours…

Pajama Program

The Pajama Program provides new pajamas and new books to children in need, many who are waiting and hoping to be adopted.  Thousands of the children they serve live in group homes and shelters and are often shuffled between temporary living facilities.  Many of them have been abused or abandoned, and have never enjoyed the simple comfort of having a mother or father tuck them in at bedtime and read to them.

Please bring new pajamas and/or a new book!
Or you can donate money if holiday shopping is too chaotic for you

We are asking for

  • Pajamas and Books need to be New, Unused, and the pajamas should be a complete set (top and bottom).
  • We will accept all ages from infant- 18 years old (up to adult size XXXL)
  • Monday, 12/19/16 will be the last day for this charity drive

I have already recruited my family as volunteers!  My hope is that during the season of making memories, that charity is a part of them for you!

Have a fantastic day!
~Pali
