Clinic visits of once a month now have both negative and positive aspects.  Positive because who wouldn’t want to only go to the chemo clinic once a month rather than 2, 3, or 5 times per week- as was the usual case for the first year of treatment?  Negative (and who would have ever thought there would be a negative?)  is that with more frequent clinic visits comes desensitization.  Not that I will ever forget the experience of clinic- I’m not sure I could if I tried…but, I can definitely tell that I don’t remember quite as well the farther apart our visits are.  I can tell this because each time we go now I am once again overwhelmed with the emotion of all that occurs within.  Glancing at the miserably sick  kids, the exhausted parents and the busy nurses brings fresh waves of familiarity to my heart.  We just…
