On a recent trip to our local craft store, Michaels, I found these buttons on clearance and just had to purchase them. I also had both the army green yarn and tan yarn in my yarn stash. So I quickly e-wrapped 2 hats with brims on the 36 peg loom for about 6 inches. Vanessa sewed the buttons onto the hats. Poof, they are ready to go. We will ship 2 shipments out this month. One exclusively for children and the other for babies in the NICU. I am so excited to have so many hats that we can justify 2 shipments to 2 different organizations.
Growth leads to many exciting things! We have so many new friends and followers and are just loving how many people we are able to touch and provide with hope & love. Growth also leads to money worries. Currently, we are also discussing how to seek donations and more contributions & how other charity organizations seek funding. We are not an official 501(c)(3) charitable organization yet, and have been mostly funding the yarn purchases and shipping costs ourselves. We have expanded and are so grateful for the hats that are being made and sent to be included in our shipments. But the shipping costs and yarn purchases are really starting to add up. We would love if you have ideas or suggestions or examples of how other organizations overcome this hurdle, please comment below.
If you want to donate yarn or money to cover shipping or yarn purchases, please let us know. Every little bit helps.
Thank you for all your support.
