Spreading Hope…a hat at a time.

Football is king in my home.  Though we like the NBA, and the kiddos play soccer and basketball on teams, and swim most of the summers away, the NFL reigns supreme in our home.  To say, we are fans would be a huge understatement and to fail to mention that Black & Yellow running through our veins would be a sin.  We are Steeler Fans through and through – all four of us!

Vanessa & I made 12 football hats for babies in the NICU.  We both had the same Loops & Threads Charisma yarn, which is extremely soft and great to work with.  Some of the footballs have 2 stripes of white and some have 1 stripe.  Some of the brims roll, while others have a garter stitch.  Vanessa sewed tiny finger laces on every hat on the front.  The sizes of all 12 hats vary to accomodate anyone in the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit.

We had fun making these hats together and talking trash about the other football teams.  Needless to say, Vanessa and her family are huge fans too- they just don’t cheer for the right team <in my opinion>.  They like the Raiders- ewww, but at least it’s not the cowboys <blech>       😉
